Gail Flowers, one of our One Size Fits All grandmas, has a blog here. I have her permission to share her site with you. Look at the quilt she made. It is awesome and she described her creating process like this:
"I scan the pictures onto the computer, changed them all to black and white, then flip them.....then copy them onto transfer paper, then press them with the hot press onto the 12 inch blocks, then sew strips onto the blacks and sew them all together, then quilt it.......LOL..... I try to use their favorite colors to strip it together if I know"
Would that not be the best gift ever! She says she made one and created a dvd/with music to go along with it. The recipient told her it was priceless. I agree. Granny Gail you rock!!!!!
Granny Gail is also helping me teach my fourth grade students about e-mail, she is going to let them send her messages then she is going to answer them. She's always ready for a challenge!!

April Fool's Day
Be on the lookout for pranksters tomorrow. If you know someone who needs to be pranked there are some good ideas here. If you know a good prank leave a comment and share. If you fall for a prank share that too! I will probably forget what day it is and fall for one first thing!

Welcome Spring!
Happy Spring Everyone! Where has everyone been this week? The blog was so quiet. I stayed on the Ponderosa from Sunday until today. My mom and I took a little shopping expedition to Crossville--just to get out and about. I went looking for clothes--tried on a few and then gave up food! Ended up with some great toys on sale for 40% off--Easter and Christmas gifts. My favorite find was the toy mailbox pictured below. It's wooden and heavy --a toy that can be passed on to the next generation. What have you been up to?

Am I Alone in Not Knowing This?

I got an e-mail from a friend today explaining that there are little push ins on the ends of aluminum foil boxes to hold the roll in the box. I never knew this. I know my IQ is probably nothing to brag about but why did I not know this after all these years? Am I the only one? Some people contemplate the meaning of the universe...sadly I contemplate my ignorance of aluminum foil boxes.

Firefly Lane
This is my latest read, just finished last night. I know you are thinking all she does is read! That is not exactly true, its just that I have had so much practice that I'm a really fast reader. I chose this book because I had read some of Kristin Hannah's other novels, but I was just a little disappointed in this one. It's a long book (496 pages in hardback) it's the story of a friendship that spans three decades. Maybe I was comparing a friendship I have had for more than three decades to this one, but I found it very predictable. I like for a novel to have some unexpected twists and turns. The main characters of this story, Tully and Kate seem to spend a lot of time being mad at each other which I thought was a little childish! Part of the setting of this book is the 70's which I enjoyed because I remembered many of the song references and current events in story. If you are not familiar with Abba and the song "Dancing Queen" you may wonder about the title for the first part!

In case you didn't know
Walmart has a blog. It's here. I love their title, it is called Checkout, where the lanes are always open. I saw a post on it today about the plans they have for the release of the Twilight DVD on March 20 and knowing how obsessed some of our K-8 Moms are I thought you might want to read and make plans! Besides, it is always good to know what is going on at Walmart.
