This afternoon, I started down the hall with my camera over my shoulder on the way to make a picture of some first graders when I met Miss Sally. And she said "You look cute today." Now that may not be much to some but when you get my age if someone tells you that you look cute, it's great! Just in case you are interested in what was making me cute, I was sporting a pink fleece vest and brown cords!
I just felt special, like I was little Miss Pink Princess, herself!
Thanks Miss Sally!
I'm Just Saying, you made my day!

Check Out this book
The copy I read came from the public library, where you can borrow it for free! It's on the new releases shelf, if someone didn't snatch it today!
(My favorite Anita Shreve book is The Weight of Water.)

Snow Pictures
P is for. . .
If you are wondering why I am making this post read Misty's, Queen of My House Blog, for an explanation, because I am too lazy to type it out and I must watch Lost when it comes on tonight!
My letter is P and here is my list. Keyton assigned this letter to me it just so happened he picked the letter of one of the things I love most in the world:
(In no particular order after the first one of course!)
Parker--I shamelessly spoil him. He will be little for such a short time and I want to enjoy him. The day will come way too soon when he doesn't want to sit in the floor and play dinosaurs with his Granny anymore! We also play blocks, trains and letters!
Puzzles--I love jigsaw puzzles. I seldom get one out because I cannot tear myself away from it and will stay up way too late finding just one more piece.
Potatoes--No meal is served here without potatoes. Fix them any way there is no way to ruin them unless you add onions! Remember I am the Queen of Mashed Potatoes!
Providence Place--This is one of my favorite places to shop. I just wish it was inside. There is Target, and J.C. Penney and The Children's Place and Books A Million. . . .
Pizza--I prefer Pizza Hut and only want cheese or beef none of those supreme mushroomy things.
Pearls--You cannot go wrong with a single strand and matching ear rings.
Pictures-- have albums full of them and countless cds with hundreds of shots! Right now my iphoto has almost 8,000 photos of Parker, mostly
Palm trees--because if you can see one that means you are at the beach!
Peace and Quiet--Don't like loud chaos such as field trip bus rides
Picture Books--Children's story books, there are too many good ones to even start a list (that's another post) I think I can write one, I have an idea!
And let's not leave out. . .
Peanut--Since 1974--that's another post too!!
So, come on guys it's easy, ask Misty for a letter!

The Electric Company is back!
I get an e-mail from Reading Rockets every day. They promote literacy and give links to articles and sites related to reading. Today there was a link to this site telling about a show called The Electric Company. It came on in the early 80's I can remember my daughters watching it. The show is geared toward graduates of Sesame Street and has been revised and will be on PBS Kids beginning next week. Check it out for your elementary age kids and grand kids.

Some of you are still IT
Misty took the tag on her blog. Kara did her part on her blog. I posted here and challenged you--Patti posted too, but some of you are still IT! It's seven random or strange things about you! Do you want to keep being IT??? Don't make me give you NI (Needs Improvement) on Plays Well With Others!
Here's a little survey while I am posting. . . What would you like to see for the background on the school spring portraits. We have used a flag, we have used a farm scene. Any suggestions?
We are also thinking about doing the group (homeroom) photos in the classrooms or outside around the sign or something besides the formal stand in a row and sit on a bench thing. Taking suggestions for that also.

Accepting the Challenge
Okay here goes-7 weird or unusual things about me!
1. I will eat chili for breakfast...or pizza...or cheeseburgers!
2. I'm so old that I actually attended a one room school house!
3. Halloween is not just a holiday for me, it's an obsession.
4. I have a bird phobia, birds inside a building terrify me.
5. I can't stand to have the bottom of my feet touched.
6. When I first started college I planned to be a psychologist.
7. I usually get to work an hour before I have to be there.
Now I'm ready to hear from the rest of you on this blog! Get Busy!

Bargain Hunting
I wish I had been able to find these for the K-8 Moms Christmas party. Our goal for the gifts we brought was to make 10 dollars go as far as we could! I bought these things at the Nashville Flea Market on December 19th. The flea market is held once a month at the fairgrounds. It is normally the last week end of the month except December when it is the third weekend. Admission is free, but there is a four dollar charge for parking. We go several times a year and one of my favorite spots is the quarter table. I actually received change from a ten dollar bill and left with all this!

I had three bags after checking out, thankfully the husband came by and carried it to the car!
Here's what is in the bags!
