Thursday's Thoughts

Here are Thursday's Thoughts...brought to you by none other than Winnie the Pooh...hope you enjoy them!

"If the person you are talking to doesn't appear to be listening, be patient. It may simply be that he has a small piece of fluff in his ear."

"A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference."

"When late morning rolls around and you're feeling a bit out of sorts, don't worry; you're probably just a little eleven o'clockish."

"You can't always sit in your corner of the forest and wait for people to come to you...you have to go to them sometimes."

"Rivers know this: there is no hurry. We shall get there some day."

"Sometimes, if you stand on the bottom rail of a bridge and lean over to watch the river slipping slowly away beneath you, you will suddenly know everything there is to be known."

"You can't help respecting anybody who can spell TUESDAY, even if he doesn't spell it right; but spelling isn't everything. There are days when spelling Tuesday simply doesn't count."

"It's always useful to know where a friend-and-relation is, whether you want him or whether you don't."

"People who don't think probably don't have brains; rather, they have grey fluff that's blown into their heads by mistake."

And my favorite...

"If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together. There is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart...I'll always be with you."

Cheap Eyewear

I met one of our K-8 Moms in the hall this morning who was sporting a new pair of glasses and she shared this deal with us! Go to this website. Here's what she e-mailed me about the site:

Take a look at all of the frames there are to choose from and read the info and see if you think you could get what you are looking for! Remember too....2 pair one single vision with clip on sunglasses and one no line bifocal for $ 79.00. I'm just tickled with the deal...hope to share with anyone that could use a new (or few) pairs of glasses.

If you are like me and wear glasses, you know what they cost and this is quite a deal. It takes about 3 weeks to get them if they have bifocals.
Check it out. I would probably be skeptical, but I saw the glasses this mom had received and they looked great. She was really happy with them!
* The shipping and handling charge is only $4.95--no matter how many pair you order.

Get yourself one.
Here's a list of the specific coupons. (click on the picture to make it big enough to read)

Easter Game

I just read about a new game on  Vanilla Joy.  I love this website!  The game is called "Capture The Tail."  I think it would be so great for children or even adults!   Here is how you play:

1.  Give each player a "bunny tail" by tucking a strip of toilet paper into the back of their pants.
2.  Play just like "tag" except each player tries to steal as many other player's tails as possible.
3.  The last player with a tail remaining...WINS!!!

What a fun idea!!!!
My boys would love this!!!

Purse shopping

Being the mother of two daughters, I have fashion advice at my fingertips when we are shopping together. Sometimes they act as the fashion police saying things like "Mom, step away from the embroidery." I usually listen to them because they know when something is "super-cute." But sometimes I don't take their advice. This was our purse shopping conversation.

Me: "I found a purse I like, it comes in yellow and green."

Oldest one: "I like the green."

Younger one: " I like the yellow."

(Older one at this point holds up a purse that looks similar to this:)

Me: "I don't like that, it looks like a little old grandma's purse. "

(daughters look at the purse, look back at me and say almost together)

Daughters: "But Mom, you are a grandma!"

I came home with the green purse!!

I'm Just Saying

You can just call me Martha Stewart. I have seedlings growing in my kitchen window. . .

And these loaves of Amish Friendship Bread are cooling on the rack of my oven!
Thanks, Kim! She tended the starter for 10 days and then shared with her friends.

BoJangles

This is the baby of my family (Granny Gail's Baby) BoJangles (BoB0 is his nickname). He is 7 monnths old and very, very active. The grandkids just adores him, and of course he adores them. He had to get a Easter haircut. Now he is all ready for the Easter bunny.

Check this out!

Gail Flowers, one of our One Size Fits All grandmas, has a blog here. I have her permission to share her site with you. Look at the quilt she made. It is awesome and she described her creating process like this:
"I scan the pictures onto the computer, changed them all to black and white, then flip them.....then copy them onto transfer paper, then press them with the hot press onto the 12 inch blocks, then sew strips onto the blacks and sew them all together, then quilt it.......LOL..... I try to use their favorite colors to strip it together if I know"
Would that not be the best gift ever! She says she made one and created a dvd/with music to go along with it. The recipient told her it was priceless. I agree. Granny Gail you rock!!!!!

Granny Gail is also helping me teach my fourth grade students about e-mail, she is going to let them send her messages then she is going to answer them. She's always ready for a challenge!!

April Fool's Day

Be on the lookout for pranksters tomorrow. If you know someone who needs to be pranked there are some good ideas here. If you know a good prank leave a comment and share. If you fall for a prank share that too! I will probably forget what day it is and fall for one first thing!

Welcome Spring!

Happy Spring Everyone! Where has everyone been this week? The blog was so quiet. I stayed on the Ponderosa from Sunday until today. My mom and I took a little shopping expedition to Crossville--just to get out and about. I went looking for clothes--tried on a few and then gave up food! Ended up with some great toys on sale for 40% off--Easter and Christmas gifts. My favorite find was the toy mailbox pictured below. It's wooden and heavy --a toy that can be passed on to the next generation. What have you been up to?
